Although expensive, you’ll find out that there are a number of free activities to indulge in in Sin City, from swimming to sightseeing!

#1- Check out the iconic Las Vegas Sign!
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
This might apply to a lot of things in Sin City, except for the “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign, which is famous and iconic all around the world.
Start off your visit to Vegas by paying a visit to this ‘fabulous’ sign. Make sure to take pictures for your friends and family.
That said, we’d suggest visiting at an odd time because otherwise, the site will be so crowded that you won’t get a chance to take proper pictures or find parking space if you’re on wheels.
#2- Groove To Free Live Music At The Fremont Street Experience
If you’re someone who enjoys live music and concerts, we might know of a Las Vegas spot that’ll widen the smile on your face.
While going to a concert usually means that you’ll have to break the bank, at Fremont Street, the hypnotic experience of live music is free for everyone to avail and enjoy.
With neon lights glimmering to the beat of the music, and the discordant chatter of fellow music enthusiasts filling up the air— the live music at Fremont Street is like nothing else in Las Vegas.
Typically, the music concerts occur every night from 6 p.m., but we’d suggest that you head down to the street sometime before that. That way, you can get the best spot for yourself and groove to the music without butting elbows with strangers.
If you’d like to experience all of Fremont Street, you can spend a little cash and book a guided tour to explore all the hidden gems in the area.

#3- Witness a Volcanic Eruption!
If you’re in Las Vegas, you have to lean into all the theatrics and gimmicks of the city.
Almost every resort and hotel has an eye-catching display or attraction (which you can check out here!) and The Mirage is no different. Only this time, it’s an attraction that literally explodes.
Before you visit, check out the Volcano’s timings on their website to ensure that you catch the show on time.
Once you’re there, prepare to be dazzled. As the background music builds up to a crescendo, The Volcano bursts beautifully into golden, orange embers and flames — making it truly a sight to behold!
#4- Relax by the Pool
As entertaining and explosive (no pun intended!) as some of Vegas’s attractions can be, it’s completely fair for you to want a quieter and more somber experience of the city.
In that case, we’d suggest that you go for a relaxing swim.
The easiest way to find a pool where you can splash around to all your heart’s content is to book a hotel that comes with a great pool.
That way, you’ll be getting the most out of the money that you invest into your hotel choice.
With that said, you’ll need to do a bit more research and look for properties that offer the best pools for the least amount of cash. Of course, everyone has different swimming requirements, so pick a hotel that caters to your specific pool needs.
As a starting point, here are some hotels with stellar pools that you can consider:

#5- Visit The Seven Magic Mountains
Created by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone, the colorful boulders that make up the “Seven Magic Mountains,” are absolutely free to visit.
While you’re here, don’t forget to take as many pictures as you want, but be careful not to litter or disturb the surrounding area in any way. It’s not an everyday occurrence for an art installation to be free to the public, so make sure to be careful not to dirty up the site.
Also, before you visit, try to work out how you’re going to get there. Since the Magic Mountains are located 20 miles south of the Strip, you’ll need some wheels to take you there.
#6- Window shop at the Downtown Container Park
Remember what we said earlier about Vegas and eccentricity?
Well, another absolutely whimsical site that you definitely need to see for yourself is the Downtown Container Park.
A quirky shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, constructed out of shipping containers, Downtown Container Park is home to a playground, several eateries, and boutiques.
While the site is mainly known as a shopping destination, you don’t have to spend a single cent here. There’s a lot of joy to be had from simply window shopping, and basking in the frenzied joy of the area.
And hey, as long as you’re here — don’t forget to check out the giant Praying Mantis sculpture. Typical of Vegas attractions, this is no normal Praying Mantis, since it changes colors and shoots fire out of its antennae!
#7- Visit A Chocolate Factory
Las Vegas is all about exciting, new possibilities.
Whether you’re visiting Vegas with your significant other, family, or friends, you won’t really experience this city until you get a taste of the eccentricity that lies at its core.
And what better way to do that than to visit a chocolate factory?
The Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden is a must-see destination for people of all ages. After all, who doesn’t love chocolate?
If you’re a parent traveling with easily agitated toddlers, make sure that you bring them to this paradise. Take a self-guided tour through the factory and educate yourself and your children about the intricacies of making chocolate. To jazz up the tour, you can always buy some chocolates and candy and enjoy them along the way.

After the chocolate factory tour, you can also stroll through the Cactus gardens, and bask in the beauty of a variety of wild plants and cacti.
#8- Behold the largest Golden Nugget in the World
Las Vegas is a city of many wonders and attractions.
If you want to be dazzled by a captivating natural discovery, stop by to witness the ‘Hand of Faith.’
This installation, located in the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino, is the largest gold nugget to ever exist. Weighing over 61 pounds, the Hand of Faith is every bit as wonderful as you’d expect it to be.
#9- Stroll Through The Arts District
If you’re someone with an artistic soul and mind, you have to pay a visit to Las Vegas’s iconic Arts District.
More commonly referred to as I8b, this eclectic district is home to a wide plethora of art galleries, studios, and performance spaces. If you’re looking to really connect to the creative soul of this city, then you need to spend a day here.
With that being said, if you don’t want to spend a fortune on gallery tickets, you can always check out the ‘First Friday Art Walk.’
This is a free event that occurs on the first Friday of every month and presents local artists with an opportunity to showcase their work. There’s also live music and food trucks lining up the streets.
If you’d like to avoid the nuisance of finding a parking space, you can always reserve a parking spot on their website.
#10- Relax at the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
Contrary to popular belief, Las Vegas isn’t all eruptions, casinos, and mind-boggling entertainment shows.
While all of that is a major part of what makes Vegas, Vegas, there’s a quieter side to the city that begs to be explored.
If you’re a traveler who likes to avoid the popular, touristy spots in favor of somber and peaceful places, you need to add the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens to your Vegas itinerary.
Here, you’ll find absolutely breathtaking floral displays that cover an area of over 14,000 square feet! The Horticulture and Engineering teams at the Bellagio Conservatory are dedicated to celebrating Mother Nature, and their displays pay a beautiful testament to their commitment.
