9. Explore the Museo Subacuático de Arte

Explore the Museo Subacuático de Arte in Cancun Mexico

Calling all art aficionados and marine biologists!

Have you ever dreamed of gazing at stunning sculptures while floating in crystal-clear water?

Well, your dreams have come true with the Museo Subacuático de Arte, or MUSA for short. This underwater art museum is more than just a place to snap some Insta-worthy pics. It’s a conservation effort disguised as a funky art exhibit.

The giant sculptures were created to promote coral reef growth, so you can feel good about getting your culture fix while also helping the environment.

Not into getting wet?

No problem; you can still enjoy the museum from the comfort of a glass-bottom boat, which is perfect for those who don’t want to risk messing up their hair. But for those brave souls who want to get up close and personal with the art, there’s always snorkeling or scuba diving. You can get your tickets for our favorite snorkeling tour HERE

Who needs air when you have art, right?

8. Catch Some Sun at Playa Delfines

Playa Delfines in Cancun Mexico

You just can’t resist the temptation of a pristine coastline, can you?

And with so many beaches to choose from, it’s almost impossible to pick just one.

But hey, if you’re a hardcore beach bum, Playa Delfines is the place to be.

It’s big, it’s beautiful, and best of all, it’s far enough from the hotel zone to avoid the pesky tourist crowds. Just hop on a cab, and voila, you’ll be soaking up the rays on Playa Delfines, with the added bonus of a free umbrella for some shade.

Just don’t be a total daredevil and go swimming along this beach; it’s not advised.

Happy tanning though!

7. Wander the Chichen Itza Ruins

Chichen Itza is THE place to be if you want to feel like Indiana Jones and get some epic shots for the ‘gram.

This ancient Mayan city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so you know it’s legit. The ruins are over a thousand years old, so you can pretend you’re a time traveler as you wander around the remnants of this once-great civilization.

Don’t worry if you’re not a history expert; you can always hire a guide to tell you all about the good old days. Or just make stuff up; we won’t judge. We love this list of Chichen Itza tour options; there’s something for everyone.

After all that sightseeing, you might be feeling a little sweaty.

Good news, because you can take a dip in the Chichen Itza Cenote and cool off like a boss. Be prepared to battle hordes of other tourists for the best spot, though.

But hey, it comes with the perks of traveling! So pack your fedora and get ready to unleash your inner adventurer at Chichen Itza.

Just don’t forget to strike a pose for the camera because if it’s not on Instagram, did it even happen?

6. Visit Museo Maya de Cancún

Museo Maya de Cancún in Cancun Mexico

Chichen Itza isn’t the only place for history geeks.

We’ve got the Museo Maya de Cancún, conveniently located on the south side of the Centro de Convenciones.

Now, don’t let the convention center location fool you. This museum is packed with around 400 Mayan artifacts from all over the Yucatan Peninsula and Mexico.

If you’re looking to really dive into Mayan culture and history, this is the place to be.

And the best part?

Admission will only set you back a measly 70 MXN, and they even throw in access to the San Miguelito Archaeological Zone with Mayan ruins.

What a steal!

Who needs sunshine and excitement when you can learn about the Mayans, right? Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to nerd out.

5. Go Clubbing In Cancun Mexico

Hotel Zone aka Party Central in Cancun Mexico

Looking for a wild time in Cancun? Look no further than the Hotel Zone, or as we like to call it, “party central.”

You can’t swing a cat without hitting a club or bar in this area, and with some of the biggest DJs in the world making regular appearances, you’re in for a treat.

Just be prepared to shell out some serious cash, especially during spring break when everything gets even more crowded and overpriced.

But hey, who needs savings when you can party like a rockstar, right?

Some of the top spots include Coco Bongo, La Vaquita, and Grand Mambo Cafe. Just don’t forget to hydrate, please.

So if you’re looking for a truly unforgettable night out, ditch the culture and history and head straight to the dancefloor in Cancun.

Your liver may hate you, but your Instagram followers will love you.

4. Hit the Spa in Cancun Mexico

Beach Side Spa In Cancun Mexico

Cancun is not just a place to party; it’s also a spa paradise.

Tequila shots seem tame when you can indulge in ancient Mayan healing sessions or get rubbed down with scented oils.

There are more spa options than you can shake a stick at, so take your pick and treat yourself.

For those who want a bit of history with their relaxation, check out Temazcal Cancun.

They offer massages for 900 MXN, but the real star of the show is the temazcal experience

It’s like a sweat lodge but fancier.

The temazcal ritual has been around since ancient times, so you know it’s the real deal. For 2-3 hours, you’ll be guided by a temazcalero, or Mexican shaman, and surrounded by volcanic stones, herbs, and a bonfire.

It’s supposed to cleanse and purify you, so you can leave all that baggage behind and embrace your inner zen.

All this luxury doesn’t come cheap, though. The temazcal experience will set you back 1,170 MXN, but can you really put a price on feeling like a Mayan queen? We think not.

Haggle in Market 28 In Cancun Mexico

Mercado 28 Shopping Experience in Cancun Mexico

If you want to get your shopping fix in Cancun, you better head to Market 28 in the downtown area.

It’s the perfect place to find all sorts of colorful local crafts, from leather goods to pottery to Mexican blankets.

And honestly, who doesn’t love a good souvenir?

But don’t be fooled by those sneaky vendors. They can smell a tourist from a mile away, and they’ll charge you prices that they make up on the spot.

You won’t see any written prices, so you know they’re up to something fishy.

Luckily, if you know a bit of Spanish, you can try to haggle for a better deal.

Make a counteroffer and see if they’ll accept it.

And if you don’t speak Spanish? No problem!

Just wave your hands around and hope they get the hint.

And remember, never pay full price for anything.

That’s just crazy talk.

So get ready to haggle like a pro and come away with some “authentic” souvenirs that you probably could have found on Amazon for half the price.

2. Go Diving

Found a shark while diving in Cancun Mexico

Calling all underwater adventurers!

Cancun is not just about tequila and sunburns; it’s also a great place to dive into the depths of the Great Mesoamerican Reef.

With over 100 types of coral and 160 species of fish, it’s like an aquarium on steroids.

And if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of one of the five species of sea turtles that call this place home.

So who needs money when you have memories?

But let’s be real; you didn’t come to Cancun to stay dry.

So strap on your flippers and get ready to dive into the action. Just remember, there’s more to diving than looking cool in a wetsuit. Make sure you’re up to the challenge and have the skills to handle the currents and potential marine life encounters.

Safety first, fun second!

So take the plunge and explore the underwater wonderland of Cancun.

1. Go On A Taco Tour

Authentic Mexican Tacos From Downtown Cancun Mexico

Oh, you haven’t truly experienced Mexico until you’ve been on a taco tour!

Cancun Food Tours is here to offer you a tour through downtown Cancun, where you’ll get to taste some of the most delicious street tacos the city has to offer.

And don’t worry, they won’t let you leave without the opportunity to make your own tortillas, because why not?

And the best part?

They have vegetarian substitutions available, so you can still join in on the fun even if you’re not a meat-eater.

Ditch the fancy dinners and go on a taco tour instead – it’s the real taste of Mexico!

Whether you’re a solo traveler seeking enlightenment, a couple seeking romance, or a family seeking to bond over sunburns and overpriced cocktails, Cancun has got you covered.
