Tents are the sole accommodation allowed, with strict rules against RVs or sleeping in vehicles. 
Campsites are loosely defined, allowing campers to set up their tents in available grassy spaces. While the campground lacks abundant trees for privacy, the awe-inspiring views of Smith Rock and the meandering Crooked River compensate for it.
Securing a camping spot at Smith Rock is on a first-come, first-serve, as reservations are not accepted. If fortunate enough to find a spot, campers can purchase a camping permit from the automated machine in the main visitor area for $8 per person per night.
