What to Eat in singapore?
Last, but certainly not least, let’s talk about food. Singapore should be well worth a visit, if not for the sights it has to offer, then certainly for the food alone. With that said, here are some dishes that you definitely need to check out. Fair warning though: get ready for some serious flavor explosions!
1. Hokkien Mee
Hokkien Mee is largely considered to be one of the most popular fried noodle dishes in Singapore. Made with a mixture of yellow egg noodles, and white rice noodles, which are then fried to perfection in a wok with seafood and bean sprouts, this dish is a must-try for any tourist. Although the dish varies from hawker to hawker, check out the Old Airport Food Centre for the most authentic preparation.
2. Tian Tian Chicken Rice
If you haven’t had a plate of steaming white rice, with some hainanese chicken and chilli sauce on the side, your trip to Singapore won’t be complete. We’d recommend Tian Tian for his tantalizing spin on the classic dish.
3. Chilli Crabs
Sold by most hawkers and roadside vendors, you need to grab yourself a plate of chilli crabs as soon as you land in Singapore. Scrumptious crab cooked to perfection, and slathered in a tangy tomato sauce, you’ll find yourself singing with each bite.
4. Laksa
Another popular Singaporean dish, a Laksa consists of rice noodles cooked in a tomato curry, served with eggs and fried onions, and a whole lot of spices. Definitely a must-try, as well!
